Having worked as researchers and project leaders in the private, government and academic sectors the two founders of Soreaso realised the need for a research company that bridge the gap between the application of sound academic research principles and the practical utilisation of such data. The ability to bridge this gap is essential in guiding programme, policy and project development and management. Towards this end Soreaso was established in 2008.
Soreaso is 100% female owned and enjoys a level 4 BEE status with a 60% PDI status. The company prides itself in the delivery of scientifically evidence – based products.
Both directors have gained extensive experience within the fields of social, community and policy development. This expertise is strongly enhanced by a pool of very experienced research associates that constitute the Soreaso team.
Soreaso has four main foci, i.e. Social Research (both qualitative and quantitative methods), Monitoring & Evaluation, Training and, Social Risk management. We support and apply a multidisciplinary approach to research and social development, towards ensuring and establishing a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of often complex social issues. In its methodological approach Soreaso focuses on capacity building of all partners involved in the research and development processes. The ultimate goal of this approach is ensuring relevance of research findings and recommendations for the utilization by the client as well as the development of programmes, policies and/or intervention strategies that have been subjected to critical and meticulous conceptualisation and validation processes.
